  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Signature German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 lb. confectioner's sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch pan.
2. Melt butter and brown sugar together and spread on the bottom of the pan.
3. Sprinkle coconut and pecans on top of the mixture. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour over coconut and pecans.
4. Combine cream cheese and melted butter in a medium mixing bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until creamy. add sugar, beat until blended and smooth. Drop by spoonfuls evenly over cake batter.
5. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted halfway to bottom of cake comes out clean. When finished baking immediately remove from pan by inverting onto serving plate.
