  • 2 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 3/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 3/4 cups sifted flour
  • 3/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk

Step 1

Grease and flour a bundt cake pan. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder and add to butter mixture, alternately with milk. Last add vanilla and beat well. Preheat oven to 350deg and bake about one hour.
