Preparation
Step 1
1. Pour 2 cups milk, 1 cup macaroni, seasonings, and melted butter into a 3.5 quart slow cooker. Mix well.
2. Cook on low. Stir well after 1 hour. Cook for another 30 min or so until pasta is cooked but still firm (al dente)
3. Add 1 cup of shredded cheese. Stir
4. Continue on low until cooked to your taste. About 20-30 minutes. Don't let the pasta get mushy.
5. Moisten with more milk, or chicken broth if needed. Serve right away, pasta can get mushy if you cook or let set for too long. Add cooked seasoned hamburger and stir in for "cheeseburger mac" or experiment with add ins like bacon, leeks, ham etc etc. You can also pour into a shallow dish and top with breadcrumbs and parmesan. Broil or bake for a few minutes to create a crunchy top.
