Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Great idea for a kid's birthday party! Cake batter is baked in ice cream cones then cooled and frosted/decorated as desired.

Ingredients
- Flat bottom ice cream cones (I used Jumbo)
- Cake mix of choice, and ingredients to prepare (or favorite scratch recipe)
- Store bought or homemade buttercream frosting of choice
- Cupcake decorations of choice, optional
- (I used Betty Crocker Red Velvet cake mix and Betty Crocker Chocolate Frosting and Vanilla Frosting that I tinted with a couple drops of liquid food coloring.)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare cake batter as directed. Fill ice cream cones about 3/4 full and stand each one upright in a standard size muffin pan (or in the handy little baking rack shown). Carefully place in the oven and bake as directed for cupcakes. (Jumbo cones take about 17-20 minutes.) Remove cupcakes to a cooling rack to cool completely.
When cupcakes are cool, frost and decorate as desired.
