Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1 cube Butter
- 1 cup Water
- 4 tbsp Cocoa
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Icing:
- 1 cube Butter
- 4 tbsp Cocoa
- 6 tbsp milk
- 1 box Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 cup Nuts, chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Cake:
Sift together sugar, flour and cocoa.
In saucepan bring to boil the shortening, butter and water. Pour over flour mixture while still hot.
Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
Icing:
Bring to boil butter and milk. Sift cocoa and powdered sugar together. Add hot mixture, add nuts, beat well, spread on cake while cake is hot.
