Butter Cookies

Butter Cookies are an Elias Family Tradition at Christmas Time since the very beginning. This recipe is from Joy's Mom and we made them our on our very first Christmas, and every year since then. It isn't Christmas unless there are butter cookies around!

Ingredients

• 1 pound butter (4 sticks) softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 4 cups flour
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 2 egg yolks

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350-370 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar in a bowl on high until light and creamy. Gradually add the egg yolks one at a time. Add milk. Add flour a little at a time until incorporated. Let dough chill slightly in refrigerator before using. Use cookie press to make cookies. Put a small amount of dough into cookie press using desired shapes. Decorate cookies with sprinkles and bake for 10 minutes until just slightly golden.

Cool on a wire rack and eat!
