Ingredients
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 Tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 Tablespoons sugar

Step 1
Bake a 9 inch pie shell and let cool. In a double boiler, combine beaten egg yolks, brown sugar, salt, flour, milk and butter. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Then cover and cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool, add vanilla and pour into the baked pie shell. Cool. If desired you can cover with meringue or whipped topping.
