SALISBURY STEAK

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Place onion and oil in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Cook on full power 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until tender.

Add ground beef, 1/4 cup soup, bread crumbs, egg and pepper. Mix well and shape into 6 patties. Arrange in 2 quart utility dish. Cover with wax paper. Cook on full power 6 to 7 minutes. Turn patties halfway through cooking time. Drain.

Blend remaining soup and water. Pour over meat. Cook covered on full power 2 to 4 minutes or until meat is cooked as desired.

For a zestier flavor, use Italian seasoned bread crumbs.
