Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup choppeddried apples
  • 3 tablespoons granular sugar substitute
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3-1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup fat-free (or 1%) milk to a 2-quart slow cooker rubbed with 1 tablespoon trans-free margarine.
  • Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
  • 1 cup has5 g soluble fiber and helps lower LDL cholesterol
