Bacon Pierogi Bake

Yum! This recipe for baked pierogies topped with chopped bacon and onions comes together quickly and everyone loves them!

Ingredients
- 1 (16-ounce) package frozen potato and cheddar pierogies
- 8 slices bacon, chopped
- 4 garlic clothes, minced
- 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese softened and cubed
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups cheddar cheese
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup seeded plum tomatoes, chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange the pierogies in a lightly greased 9 x 9-inch baking dish.
In a medium skillet cook the bacon until crisp. Removed to a paper towel lined plate.
Add garlic to the drippings in the pan and cook for 30 seconds. Add cream cheese to pan and cook until cream cheese begins to melt stirring frequently.
Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pierogies. Bake for 15 minutes or until bubbly and heated did through.
Remove from oven and top with cheese bake for an additional five minutes or until cheese is melted.
Top with cooked bacon, green onions and tomato before serving .
