Ingredients

  • 1 quart diced tomatoes
  • 2 small cans tomato paste
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1/2 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 green pepper, diced, optional
  • 1/2 bundle fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 pint marinara sauce
  • italian seasoning
  • 4 bay leaves, whole, a must!
  • pinch chili pepper, dried
  • salt
  • garlic powder
  • oregano
  • olive oil
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 lb. ground beef

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pot saute onion, garlic, green pepper and fresh parsley in olive oil and wine. Add tomato paste, stir over medium heat for 1 minute.

Add diced tomatoes, mushrooms, marinara sauce and all the spices. Bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for 3 - 4 hours. After the 3rd hour add ground beef and meatballs. Cook for final hour.
