Easiest candy ever!! Just throw everything in the slow cooker and spoon it out when melted. For a special holiday treat decorate tops with Christmas or Valentine sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • NOTE:
  • 3 cups pecan pieces (or lightly salted dry roasted
  • peanuts)
  • Half of (1 lb 8 oz) package chocolate flavored Almond Bark
  • 2 (12 oz) bags semi-sweet chocolate chips (OR 1 bag semi-sweet and 1 bag milk chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon Crisco shortening
  • Sprinkles for decorating tops, optional
  • Other nuts, or Rice Krispies cereal, even dried fruits such as raisins, cranberries, cherries, or coconut can also be used, even omitting the nuts, if desired.

Preparation

Step 1

Place nuts of choice in the bottom of a 3 to 4-quart slow cooker. Layer chocolate bark, chocolate chips, and shortening on top of the nuts in the order given.

Cover and heat on LOW setting for about 1-1/2 hours or until chocolate has completely melted, stirring every 20 minutes to prevent scorching.

Drop by tablespoons (or teaspoons for bite size candies) onto waxed paper or parchment paper. Immediately, decorate tops with assorted sprinkles, if desired. Set aside to cool and harden for at least 2 hours.

Store in an airtight container. (I refrigerate them.)
