Ingredients
- Chicken or turkey carcass, or beef bones
- Lemon or apple cider vinegar
Preparation
Step 1
Put bones or carcass in crockpot and cover with filtered water. Cut organic lemon in half and squeeze juice into pot or use 1-2 T apple cider vinegar to 1 gallon of water. Toss lemon rinds in pot too.
Turn crockpot to high for one hour then reduce to low and simmer broth for 24-48 hours. Strain broth and store in glass jars, leaving 1.5 inches head space. Top with lids and refrigerate then move to freezer. Thaw broth in refrigerator for 1 day before using. You can make multiple batches of bone broth from one set of bone. Just repeat process. You will get less gelatin but continue to get minerals.
