  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored
  • 3 tablespoons dried figs, roughly chopped
  • 2/3 cup Marsala wine (or use red grape juice with a dash of vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Stuff apples with figs and place in a small baking pan or casserole dish.
Place 1 tablespoon butter on each apple. Pour Marsala over apples. Cover with casserole lid or aluminum foil.
Bake for about 30 minutes.
Remove foil. Return apples to oven and continue cooking for another 10 minutes or until apples are tender and juicy.
Pour any pan drippings over apples before serving.
