Snickerdoodle Cookies

Snickerdoodle cookies are so soft and sweet. These cookies are so good they will have you coming back for more.

Ingredients
- 1 cup soft shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups gold medal flour
- 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Step 1
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly.
Measure flour by sifting. Blend all dry ingredients; gradually add flour mixture; mix well.
Heat oven to 400˚F.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoon cinnamon.
At Christmas time I use 2 tablespoons of colored sugar with 2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Place 2” apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out.
