Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry Anasazi beans, washed and sorted
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 ham bone (from sprial-cut ham with plenty of meat and use as much of the honey/sugar glaze as you can save)

Preparation

Step 1

Add beans and water to slow cooker, set on high.

Stir occassionally, ad more water as needed.

After the beans begin to soften (at least half way through), add the salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and ham bone & juices from the glaze).

Continue to cook on high until beans are cooked, adjusting water level and seasoning to taste.

Serve with cornbread.
