Tater Tot Casserole

Great comfort food recipe that the kids will love. Can serve with ketchup or steak sauce to put a spin on the taste.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs 93% lean ground beef (very important to use 93% or leaner in order to keep from having to drain grease)
- 1-1/2 pkgs of Ore Ida Plain Tater Tots (Give or take. Buy 2 just to be sure)
- 3 cn cream of mushroom soup
- 3 c sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
Step 1
In 3qt Pyrex: press 2lbs 93% lean hamburger (so you won't have to drain later) into bottom of dish. 1-1/2 pkg or so of tater tots. Push tots upright down into hamburger meat until hamburger meat is fully/evenly covered, use hands to push further down into hamburger and make even, spread 3cn cream of mushroom over top of tots, cover with foil.
Cook: covered in 400° preheated for 1-1/2 hr, take out, remove foil and cover with 3c sharp cheddar, place back in oven uncovered until cheese is melted and lightly brown, approx. 5min.
Great with ketchup or steak sauce.
