Honey-Bun Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • mix and set aside:
  • 1 (18.25oz) pkg. yellow cake mix with pudding or 2 pkgs jiffy cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cub vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 8oz carton sour cream
  • 1/2 cub firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Glaze:
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or to taste)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 5 ingrediaents in a mixing bowl and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Set aside. Pour half of batter in a greased and floured (or pam sprayed) 9x13x2 baking pan.
Sprinkle half of brown sugar mixture over batter. Pour rest of batter on top. Gently swirl batter with a knife. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Drizzle glaze over cake and cool.

Glaze:
combine first 3 ingrediants. Mix until smooth. Drizzle some over cake, sprinkle on nuts, drizzle the rest of glaze over cake.
