Ingredients
- flour
- salt
- pepper
- standing rib roast or other beef roast
Preparation
Step 1
sprinkle roast with flour, salt and pepper to coat all surfaces. Pre heat oven to 500 degrees. Put in shallow roasting pan and cook as follows:
4 1/2-5 lbs 25 to 30 minutes
8-9 lbs 40 to 45 minutes
11-12 lbs 55-60 minutes
Cook beef in pre heated oven the appropriate length of time then turn oven OFF. Leave roast in off oven 2 1/2 hours. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR AT ANY TIME UNTIL READY TO SERVE. BEEF WILL BE DONE MEDIUM RARE EVERY TIME
