Easy Beef Taco Filling

Delicious beef taco filling from regular ground beef and simple spices

Ingredients
- Taco Seasoning:
- 680 grams Regular-Fat Ground Beef
- 2 - 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
Preparation
Step 1
Mix all Taco Seasoning ingredients in a bowl.
Lightly coat frying pan with olive oil. Heat pan to medium-high heat.
Add ground beef, breaking it up with the sharp end of a spatula. Brown beef until pink color is completely gone with minimal mixing with the spatula. Beef should be fully cooked, just to a light golden brown, but not crispy.
Turn burner to low or off and drain off excess grease from beef. Turn burner back on to medium heat.
Evenly shake on Taco Seasoning (about 1/2 tbps for up to a pound of beef, lightly mixing it in quickly with the spatula.
Allow beef to heat up with the seasoning for about 1 minute.
Add about 1/2 cup of water.
Simmer beef for 15 minutes allowing excess water to boil off, but not allowing beef to become dry (add water, or increase heat or cooking time as necessary).
Serve as Beef Taco Filling with soft or hard tacos and your favorite toppings, condiments and sides!
