Scotch Apple Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Butter
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 4 Apples, grated
  • 12 Cups Oatmeal
  • 4 Cups Chopped Nuts (optional)
  • 4 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in heavy pan. Stir in the sugar, flour, salt, and apples. Cook until boiling. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, oatmeal and nuts; mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper. Cool and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
