Ingredients
- 1 can 21 oz cherry pie filling
- 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1-1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- chocolate sauce and whipped cream for topping
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9x13" pan and spread the pie filling evenly the bottom. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Then take a second bowl and mix the water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Dump liquid ingredients into dry and stir. Pour over the cherry pie filling.
Bake for 35 minutes. Invert cooled cake onto a serving dish. Serve with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and more cherries.
