Ingredients
- For filling:
- 5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- juice of one lemon
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- For crumble topping:
- 1/2 stick butter, sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Peel, core, and slice apples.
Juice lemon and drop apple slices in juice, coating, to keep the slices from browning.
Mix dry ingredients.
Layer apple slices and dry mixture in pie crust.
Pour lemon juice over top.
Crumble topping:
Process and sprinkle over top of pie.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes.
Place a foil tent over top halfway through baking.
