French Canadian Christmas Cake

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup salted pork (soak pork in cold water for 30 seconds to a minute to remove some salt, then grind the pork)
- 2 cups sultana (golden) raisins
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix together eggs, sugar and molasses.
Add milk, butter and baking soda.
Add cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pork, raisins, nuts, flour and baking powder. Mix thoroughly.
Pour into a Bundt pan and bake for about 1-1/2 hours.
