Ingredients

  • 1 package oven ready lasagna
  • 2 (15 oz) containers ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup parmasen cheese, divided
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 jar favorite pasta sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lb lean ground beef, cooked and drained

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425F

In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, ¼ cup parmesan, eggs, and basil. Mix well.

In another bowl, combine pasta sauce, 1 cup water, and the browned ground beef. Mix well.

In 9×13 pan, spread 1½ cups of meat sauce mixture. Place lasagna over sauce. Spread ½ of the cheese mixture over lasagna; top with ⅓ of the meat sauce. Repeat layering once. Top with lasagna and remaining sauce.

Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Wrap lasagna tightly with double layer of foil. Bake for 60 minutes or until the lasagna is fork tender.
