Salsa - Rebecca Matthew's Picante sauce recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sliced jalapenos, no juice - kroger jalapeno slices
  • 1-2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 small onion (white) - size of fist
  • 3 TBLS white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 heaping tsp oregano leaves
  • 1 heaping tsp cumin
  • 3 cans peeled whole plum tomatoes w/San Marzano style Kroger brand
  • fresh cilantro - enough to cover the top of food processor on layer
  • Santitos Chips

Preparation

Step 1

1. Process first 3 ingedients in blender or food processor

2. Tomatoes - take out basil, squeeze out each tomato and disgard juice. Add remaining ingredients and pulse until just chopped (do not puree)

3. Refrigerate and serve with Santitos chips
