Ingredients

  • 2 packages (12 ounces each) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 jar (7-1/2 ounces) marshmallow cream
  • 1 can (13 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 4-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Pecan halves (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Lightly butter a 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan.

Put first three ingredients in large bowl. In large deep heavy saucepan, combine evaporated milk and sugar. Bring to a rolling boil and cook rapidly, stirring, exactly 9 minutes.

Pour over ingredients in bowl and mix well. Beat with electric mixer or rotary beater only until well blended.

Stir in vanilla extract and nuts. Spread evenly in prepared pan.

Chill 12-24 hours. Cut in 1-1/2 inch squares. Top with pecan halves if desired.

Store in air tight container.

Makes about 6 dozen pieces.
