Ingredients
- FROSTING:
- 1 1/2 cups oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 4 cups chopped peeled apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch pan or a 10-inch bundt pan.
Stir the flour, baking soda and salt together.
In a large bowl cream the oil, eggs, 1 cup brown sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Stir in the apples and nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
FROSTING:
In a saucepan combine the frosting ingredients. Bring to a boil and continue for 3 minutes. Cool slightly and pour over warm cake.
