Buttermilk Pie

Creamy buttermilk pie is a perfect dessert any time of the year. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell, unbaked
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • Cinnamon for sprinkling over the top, if desired

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Add in all remaining ingredients. Pour into uncooked pie crust.

Sprinkle cinnamon over the top, if desired. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until center is slightly firm. Let cool and store in refrigerator.
