Cake: Unfrosted Vanilla Milk Cake

By

OMG! This is soo good. It has an incredible flavor, something like very buttery and almost nutty. It is sooo perfect all by itself with a little powder sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325*
Grease and flour a 12 cup tube pan

Whisk the flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Or just sift it together.

*Heat the butter and milk in a medium saucepan until the butter melts and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.

*Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla
*Beat the eggs and sugar until tripled in volume, about 6 minutes
*Add the flour mixture and milk mixture in two batches, but don't over beat
*Pour the batter into the pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean

*Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely, for at least 1 hour.
