Ingredients

  • 2 cups. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 Tbs. chilled margarine, cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup. 1% low-fat milk

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in margarine with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk; stir just until moistened.

Turn dough onto floured surface; knead 4 to 5 times.
Roll dough to a 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 450* for 11 mins. or until golden.
