Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbsps minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsps minced fresh basil or 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 3 16 oz cans stewed tomatoes Pureed (I like Del Monte best)
  • 1 8 0z can tomato sauce
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 can tomato paste ( you probably wont need the whole can)

Preparation

Step 1

In a 3 quart saucepan, heat olive oil and saute garlic until golden brown . Stir in stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce.Stir in basil, Italian seasoning and oregano,salt and pepper.Simmer until ready to serve. Add tomato paste to make the sauce thicker.

If you like meat in your sauce add it.

I brown chicken breasts in olive oil and garlic, then cover with sauce and simmer until done
serve with spaghetti noodles.
