Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 (8-ounce) container sliced baby bella mushrooms
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups grated fontina cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 (16-ounce) packages frozen green peas, thawed and drained
- 1 (6-ounce) can french-fried onion rings

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add mush¬rooms, onion, and garlic; cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until tender.
Stir in flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Gradually stir in milk and cream; cook, stirring constantly, for 6 to 8 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Add cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth. Add peas, stirring to combine.
Spoon mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish; bake for 30 minutes. Top evenly with french-fried onion rings; bake for 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
