Freezer Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon shredded cabbage
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 sweet green pepper
  • 2 carrots
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp celery seed

Preparation

Step 1

Combine cabbage and salt. Mix well. Let stand 1 hour. Add pepper, carrots and mix well. Boil water, sugar and vinegar in a small sauce pan for 1 minute. Cool. Add celery seed to syrup mixture and pour over cabbage. Let stand for 30 minutes to cool and freeze.
