Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients

• Cake:
• 1 stick butter
• 1 cup old fash'd oatmeal
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp bkg soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp ground cloves
• 2 eggs
• 1-1/3 cup flour
• Icing:
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 stick butter
• 1/4 cup evap milk
• 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Cook oatmeal with stick of butter included in 1-1/2 cups of water for 15 to 20 minutes. Mix dry ingredients, stir in 2 eggs and oatmeal. Pour into 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake @ 350° for 30 min.
Melt butter for icing. Stir in remainder of ingredients and pour over cake. Broil until icing bubbles.
