Chicken or Turkey Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • Pastry for 2 pie crusts
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 6 Tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 3 cups of cooked, cubed chicken or turkey
  • 4 ounces frozen corn
  • 4 ounces frozen peas
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms

Preparation

Step 1

Cook onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Blend in flour. Add broth all at once. Cook and stir until bubbly, making a white sauce. Add chicken and vegetables. Pour into a a large casserole dish lined with pastry crust. Place second crust over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
