Ingredients

  • 6 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1 BAG CHOPPED WALNUTS (12 OZ)
  • 1 EGG
  • 1 BAG CHOCOLATE CHIPS (12 OZ)
  • 4 SQUARES BAKING CHOCOLATE (MELTED)
  • 1 3/4 CUPS SUGAR
  • 1 TBSP BAKING POWDER
  • 1 TSP NUTMEG
  • 1 TSP CINNAMON
  • 1 TSP ALLSPICE
  • 1 TBSP CRISCO
  • 1 CUP WATER

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients except flour. Add chips, nuts, chocolate last. Spread flour on board and add mixture. Knead untio blended and dough is silky. Form batches of dough into logs and press down to flatten a bit. Cut 1" slices and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes until light brown in color and firm to the touch.
Cool on rack and finish by frosting with glaze of xxx sugar/water. Can add flavoring and or food coloring. Add sprinkles or leave plain.
