Ingredients

  • 1 C butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 3 TBS water
  • 1 TBS light corn syrup
  • 1/2 C coarly chopped pecans or almonds
  • 3/4 C semi sweet choc chips
  • 1/2 C fome;u chopped pecans or almonds

Step 1

Butter sides of heavy 2 qt saucepan. Melt the butter. Add sugar, water and light corn stup. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to boiling. Continue cooking to 290 (soft crack) stirring only as neessary to prevent sticking. Mixture should boil gently over entire surface. Remove from heat. Quickly stire in the 1/2 nuts. Immediately turn onto buttered baking sheet. Wait 2-3 minutes for candy surfact to firm, then sprinkle with choc chips. Let stand for 1-2 minutes. When choc chips are softened, spread evenly over the candy. Sprinkle with the finely chopped nuts. Chill until chocolate is firm. Break into pieces.
