Homemade Microwave Caramels

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 1/4 cup Packed brown sugar
  • 14 1/2 ounce Sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated)
  • 1 cup Light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Butter a 13x9 inch baking dish. Set aside. Combine first 4 ingredients in 3 quart microwave safe bowl. Microwave (HIGH) 17 minuutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Remove from microwave. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour into prepared baking dish. Cool. When set, cut into squares and wrap individually in waxed paper. Store in refrigerator.
