Bell Pepper Pizza

Ingredients

  • 2 tbls. olive oil
  • 1 lb. italian sausage, or ground beef, loose and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. pizza sauce
  • 4 large yellow bell peppers, halved
  • 4 tbls. water
  • 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil. Cook sausage, stirring constantly, until browned, about 5 mins.

Stir in pizza sauce. Cover and cook 5 mins.

Meanwhile, place peppers in 2 microwave safe glass dishes. Add 1 tbl. water to each; microwave separately on high for 5 mins., or until peppers are soft.

Spoon sausage mixture into peppers. Top with cheese and bake until cheese melts.
