  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups fruit cocktail, well drained
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together well beaten egg and fruit cocktail. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients. Spread into a well greased 9 x 12 inch pan.

Mix together brown sugar and chopped nuts and sprinkle over the top of the cake. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour and ten minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream, ice cream or Cool Whip.
