Are you on cookie overload? I know that I am. But sometimes you just can't resist the draw of something sweet. Which is why I've concocted this healthy hot chocolate recipe – a tasty Winter treat without all of the calories, dairy, and artificial ingredients.
Yield: 2 servings
tablespoons cocoa (unsweetened powder, the kind you use for baking)
Classic: ½ tsp of vanilla extract and a sprinkle of cinnamon
Peppermint: the tiniest dab of peppermint extract (that's strong stuff) stirred in at the end
Coconut: a dab of coconut extract (I bet you could even use lite coconut milk as your milk base)
Any other ideas??
Heat milk of choice in a small saucepan over medium-low heat (yes, the stove is the best way for this one). Once starting to warm, whisk in cocoa and agave until well combined. At the end, stir in the flavoring combination of your choice. Serve!
