This wonderful open-faced post-Thanksgiving favorite always features one slice of bread, bacon, turkey and cheese sauce…how could you go wrong with those ingredients?
Yield: 4 servings
cup of shredded cheddar cheese
slices of crispy bacon
In a sauce pan over medium heat melt the butter. Once melted whisk in the flour until it forms a paste, around 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the milk, allow it to simmer until milk thickens. Stir in the cheese.
On a plate begin building the sandwich. First lay down the bread, then the tomato, then the bacon, the turkey and top with a ladle full of cheese sauce. Serve hot.
