Sue started making this after first getting married. Everyone always complemented the dish.
Yield: 4 servings
lbs. beef stew meat, cut into 1" cubes
Poppy seeds (optional)
Brown meat in hot oil.
Add next six ingredients, 1 cup water and 1 tsp. salt. Cover and cook over low heat until meat is tender (about 2 hours).
Combine cornstarch and ¼ cup cold water. Add to beef mixture. Cook until bubbly.
Serve over noodles, and sprinkle with poppy seed.
