Ingredients

  • 2 15-ounce cans garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 3 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons minced canned chipotle chilies
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Blend all ingredients except for the cilantro in a food processor until smooth. Transfer hummus to a medium bowl. Stir in cilantro. Taste and add more salt and pepper if needed.
