Ingredients
- 8 c. water
- 1 c. dry black beans
- 1 c. dry black-eyed peas
- 6 tsp powdered chicken bouillon
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped gr. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 14oz can stewed tomatoes
- 1 8oz can tomato sauce
- 2 c. frozen corn
- 2 tbs honey
- Salt to taste

Step 1
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add black beans and boil for 12 minutes. Add black-eyed peas and boil 3 minutes longer. Pace the undrained boiled beans in the crock-pot and add 4 cups of remaining water, bouillon, onion, pepper, bay leaf, Italian seasoning and basil. Cook on low for 4.5 hours. Add remaining ingredients and continue cooking for 30 minutes. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
