Vegetarian Split Pea Soup 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 6 cups dried split peas
  • 6 quarts water
  • 4 1/2 c sliced carrots
  • 3 cups chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 cubes vegetarian bouillon

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine dried peas and water in large stock pot. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 1 hour, or until peas are soft. (For a smooth soup, blend and return to pot.)

2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer gently about 30 minutes. If mixture is too thick, more water may be added.
