This recipe was given to me years ago by a friend. I wish I could remember which one. Very rich and chocolaty!

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 16 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 4 cubes Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Half-and-Half
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla
  • 8 Eggs
  • Ganache:
  • 1 cup Chocolate
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:
In a saucepan over low heat, melt semi-sweet chocolate, butter, sugar, half and half, salt and vanilla. Stir until melted. Cool

Beat 8 eggs until light and fluffy. Add to cooled mixture. Pour into a sprayed 9" or 10" spring form pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Ganache:
In a small saucepan, mix chocolate, butter, milk and cornstarch. Stir over low heat until well mixed and completely melted.

Pour ganache over cake.
