Spiced Pumpkin Scones

By

These scones taste like the scones you can get at Starbucks.

I usually make these in the fall. The house is filled with a wonderful spicy aroma as they bake!

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and spices. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter until it is crumbly.

In a small bowl, mix together the eggs, pumpkin and milk until combined.

Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just blended. Don't over mix.

Pat dough into a circle and and slice into wedges.

Place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.

Let cool on wire rack.

Spicy Glaze:
1-1/1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Ginger
1/8 tsp Cloves
2-3 tbsp Milk

Mix the sugar and the spices together in a bowl and stir in milk, stirring until all lumps are gone.

Drizzle over the scones when they are cooled, if you can wait that long!
