Ingredients

  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Dark Molasses
  • 1/2 cup Light Molasses
  • 3/4 cup Sourdough Starter
  • 3 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 3 cups Whole-wheat Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking Soda

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine buttermilk, milk, eggs, dark and light molasses and sourdough starter in a large mixing bowl.

Sift together all purpose flour, whole-wheat flour and baking soda.

Gradually add to sourdough mixture, completely mixing after each addition

Pour batter into 2 lightly greased 9 X 5-inch bread pans.

Let stand for 20 minutes.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until bread is firm when tested with a toothpick.
